ABOUT KIRA HENSON
Hi, visitors! My name is Kira Henson. I am a comedienne author, video maker, and website designer. I want to tell you a little about myself, so that we can become acquainted.
I began writing stories at age six, and decided that I wanted to be an author someday. So far, I’ve published the print book and ebook versions of HALLOWEEN 2018, which my brother, Julian, and I worked on together. We also have some free samples of our work available, plus an ebook featuring our proper hygiene! It will tell you how we avoid getting sick year-round! Now, I’m currently juggling several unfinished books that I’m writing. They include a horror/suspense novel, a book on how to use proper speech and grammar, and—one I'm so excited to release—HALLOWEEN 2019, the sequel to HALLOWEEN 2018, which Julian and I are writing together! The titles of the other books will remain a surprise for now, but please visit this site often for updates! You’ll love the content we post!
I adore animals, all kinds of animals, but especially adorable, furry ones that make good pets. I’d write how many animals I currently have, but since the number seems to change so often (as old animals pass away, and new ones are adopted), I’ll just say that I have one dog, two turtles, and several cats. That should do it for now. (The number of cats I have changes rapidly, but my family won’t be getting more dogs or turtles anytime soon.) Someday, I plan on writing blog pages about all the animals I’ve had. Broomhilda (Hilda for short) was an adorable puppy, and is now a whopping dog! My family calls our larger turtle Bub (he’s a boy), and the smaller turtle, which is a girl, is called Bubette, Little Bub, or Lady Bub. True, these may not be “official” names, but what else should we call them? I don’t want to exclude any of the cats I currently have, but I’ll write about them in future blogs. For now, I’ll tell you about Wadsworth. Not too long ago, he was here with me. He was a super sweet, black kitty. Sadly, on June 2, 2021, Wadsworth passed away. I still have a lot of pictures and videos of him, and he appears in HALLOWEEN 2018. I’ll never forget him. My family has adopted some new cats since the time of Wadsworth’s passing. I love all of the animals more than I can say.
I love watching horror and comedy movies and shows. Musicals are some of my favorites. The last movie I saw in theaters, before the coronavirus outbreaks, was ROCKETMAN. I love that movie, and saw it twice in the theater! Although I’ve hardly left the house during the covid pandemic, I did see THE LAST DUEL and HOUSE OF GUCCI in the theater. I’m so glad I did, and of course, I wore a mask the entire time! My very favorite movie is THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, which I’ve even seen in a theater where audience participation was encouraged! It was an amazing blast of fun! My two favorite shows are on Netflix: SANTA CLARITA DIET and STRANGER THINGS. Everything weird, strange, and out-of-the-ordinary gets my attention! These shows are perfect to watch year-round, not just on Halloween!
Speaking of Halloween… it’s my favorite holiday! I just love to dress up! I’m known for doing my own weird and crazy hair and makeup. I’m also very interested in astrology, mysticism, supernatural things, meditation, psychic ability, and spirituality. For Halloween in the year 2019, I dressed as “Punk Eleven” from STRANGER THINGS! I had the black shirt, jacket, baggy jeans, high socks, white shoes, wrist wrap, slicked-back short hair, pink lipstick, black eye shadow, and nosebleed! Below are some pictures of how I looked!

Red, which symbolizes love, passion, and mysteries, among other things, happens to be my favorite color! That sort of figures. I do love mysteries, suspense, and horror. My favorite author (but not person) is Stephen King. I’ve read PET SEMATARY, CYCLE OF THE WEREWOLF, CUJO, THE SHINING, and IT—in that very order. Now, I’m in the middle of reading DREAMCATCHER, and I’ve also started DOCTOR SLEEP and END OF WATCH. (Yes, I know. My life is a Stephen King circus!)
I sometimes create my own jewelry, especially earrings! My family is constantly surprised by the things I come up with! I’m well known for having the weirdest things dangling from my earlobes!
